Justicia para Nuestra Hijas meets with high-level officials from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, in Washington
Norma Ledezma, Executive Director of Justicia para Nuestra Hijas (JPNH) met with Emilio Alvarez Icaza, Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and other members of the Commission and spoke about the vulnerability and risks for human rights defenders in Chihuahua, Mexico. In several work meetings with IACHR´s staff and NGOs from the Americas, Norma Ledezma highlighted the challenges of the justice system and the rule of law, in relation with the abductions and murders of women. During her visit to the Commission, held in early November, JPNH´s Director also spoke about the partial compliance of the legal agreement achieved with Mexican authorities regarding the case of her own daughter, Paloma Angélica Escobar Ledezma.
